This video trailer features bouncy, catchy music with a singer crooning about growing up. Several children’s books dance across the screen; the colorful covers and animal pictures catch the eye and interest of the viewer. Giraffes, gorillas, a mermaid, football players, and everyone’s favorite, Elmo of Sesame Street, are some of the images shown. “Personalized children’s books” is the first title, leading the viewer to understand that these books can be personalized for their own child.
What you might not understand from watching the video is that the book doesn’t just have your child’s name in it, but that the child is an integral part of the story. Children are by nature very egocentric, and are fascinated by seeing their own name in print. Imagine the excitement when they not only see their own name, but realize that they themselves are a character in the story.
This is the idea behind mychildbook.com. Dozens of books are available, from holiday stories to fairy tales and princesses. Maybe your child prefers comic book heroes or sports heroes. Perhaps he or she loves animals and trains. Whatever your little one’s interests, you will most likely find a book here that they will treasure forever.
These books will help start your child on a life-long reading journey. Kids who read, and are read to, early in life develop language and cognitive skills ahead of their peers. Their imagination is enhanced, and so is their self-confidence.
Music CD’s with your child’s name sung in the lyrics are also available, along with many other great gift ideas.
The video closes with the claim that you can “Give a child a gift that lasts a lifetime!” All books might not be keepers, but these will be.
