About the video

Shown in the video above are several beautiful and historic places of interest for people visiting Croatia. The video begins with images from Pula, including the famous Pula Arena and excellent example of Roman architecture, and also the Arch of the Sergii, which was once a gate leading into the ancient city. Construction on both of these historic objects began over 2000 years ago.

The lake in the video is in Lonjsko Polje, or “Field of the Lonja River”, a park and protected area of Croatia, near Siska. The waterfalls shown are from Plitvice Lakes National Park which is located in the mountains of Lika. There are 16 total lakes in the park, 12 upper and 4 lower, spanning over a combined area of about 2 km.

Shown next is the historic harbor city of Dubrovnik, built around St. John’s Fortress in the early part of the 14th century. The original tower of the fortress remains. Nearby is the Dominican Monastery, even older than St. John’s itself, which remains home to incredible works of art and literature. Also within Dubrovnik are a Pharmacy Museum, the Dubrovnik Aquarium and Maritime Museum, and Sponza Palace which held the bank and armory of Dubrovnik during the Renaissance.

Next to last on the video is Trogir, another fascinating harbor town, this one nearly 2500 years old and founded by the Greeks. Trogir has been on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s list of World Heritage Sites for the last 13 years, which designates it as a city of outstanding cultural significance to humanity. And finally shown is Rabac, a small fishing village turned resort town, home of the Rabac Festival for electronic music, which is one of the best spots for accommodation Croatia, with temporary apartments, several hotels, and even camping.
